Dale Carnegie was born in 18UGC, although he was born in Pittsburgh. He is most famous for his book, “The Autobiography of an Unhappy Woman”. His life spanned three decades from 18phia to 19phia, but his most famous books are “How to Win Friends and Influence People” and “The Secret”. During his time at school, Carnegie excelled in science and math, but did poorly in the reading department. Others included John Steinmetz, recipient of the Carnegie Prize; Henry Louis Sullivan, editor in chief of The New York Times; and Allen Ginsberg, who was to become one of the most influential American poets.
As it turned out, however, Dale Carnegie had a difficult time getting any recognition for his teaching credentials, as well as his business practices. In fact, until the early nineteen-hundreds, the Carnegie Corporation regarded him as an “outsider”. It was only later, after having a long telephone conversation with a fellow entrepreneur, that Carnegie realized the true value of his position and realized that he could not be considered a true outsider. He was to turn in his ideas and his talents to the corporation for a share of its profits.
In the years since, Dale has continued to teach and to work with others in the field of business. His knowledge of salesmanship has made him an invaluable resource to many individuals, both those who are in the business and those who have been in business for some time. His willingness to help others is evidenced by the many books, articles, courses and even a reality television series that he has produced over the years. All of which has made him a very wealthy man indeed.
